Origin[edit]

Found across Central America from the Atlantic slope from Honduras (Patuca River) to Costa Rica.


Environment specifics[edit]

Must have a soft substrate as this fish likes to dig and can be quite enthusiastic about it, for this reason will uproot plants.


Behaviour[edit]

Can be aggressive and territorial towards others, especially when spawning.


Identification[edit]

Colouration on this Cichlid varies depending on its origin. It resembles a hybrid of a Jack Dempsey and a Severum.
